History & Lore
First created in 2001 for Counter-Strike 1.1, Train is one of the oldest maps in the game. It was reworked multiple times and reintroduced to CS2 active duty in 2024 after a long hiatus.
Core Tactics — CT & T Side
CT side: hold ivy / ladder, anchor A heaven, rotate via Z. T side: pop-flash into A with Oil / Blue train plays, or B via ivy and sandwich.
Competitive History on Train
Train is one of the oldest maps in Counter-Strike, dating back to 2001. Astralis dominated Train in their 2018-2019 peak. The map was removed from active duty in 2021 and reintroduced to CS2 in 2024 with a Source 2 rework.
Train CS2 Meta Notes
CS2 Train has been significantly reworked with new textures, clearer sight lines, and rebuilt sandwich bomb-site geometry. Pop-dog and ladder angles have been adjusted for more fair duels.

T side: Default B takes with ivy molotov, force AK on round 2 lost. CT side: AWP on Alley and ladder-room; double SG-553 on T forced buys is standard.
